Olympus strikes back with its new conception, the Olympus D-425 which is an exciting camera and setting new standards in the market! It was announced in the US on the 05/1/05. This nice camera measures 101 x 52 x 36 mm and is weighting only 170 g. The D-425 can be set to a maximum resolution of 2288 x 1712. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 1600 x 1200, 640 x 480. The ratio of the image on the Olympus D-425 is set at 4:3, for a total of 3.9 mega pixels. The lens's sensor of the D-425 is a CCD which measures 1/2.5 " and uses a RGB color filter. Olympus added a digital zoom on its D-425 and included an internal flash which is always essential in a camera .

The normal focus range between the camera and the object is 50 cm. The min. shutter speed of the D-425 is 2 seconds while the maximum shutter speed is 1/1500 seconds. Movie clips are also supported on this camera being a very useful function. The Olympus D-425 camera has an internal storage of 14 mb extendable by using xD Picture Card + Internal. The LCD screen of the D-425 is measuring 1.5 ". USB connectivity to a computer is supported.
