Olympus arrives this year with its new conception, the Olympus C-300 Zoom which is a very exciting camera and supposed to set new standards in the market! It was shown in North America on the 08/5/02. The Olympus C-300 Zoom will be sold at a retail price of 300in North America, considered affordable for such a camera. This nice camera measures 118 x 66 x 50 mm and weights 300 g. The C-300 Zoom offers a maximum resolution of 1984 x 1488. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 1600 x 1200, 1280 x 960, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The image ratio on the Olympus C-300 Zoom has been set at 4:3, 3:2, for a total of 3.0 mega pixels.

The lens's sensor of the C-300 Zoom is a CCD which measures only 1/2.5 " and uses a RGB color filter. Olympus implemented a digital zoom on the C-300 Zoom with an internal flash being very common in new cameras . The normal focus range between the camera lens and the object is 80 cm. The minimum shutter speed (min. exposition to light) on the C-300 Zoom is 2 seconds while the maximum shutter speed is 1/1000 seconds. Movie clips are also supported on this camera which is always a useful function.

The Olympus C-300 Zoom has an internal memory of 16 mb extendable with SmartMedia. The LCD screen of the C-300 Zoom is measuring 1.8 ". A video out plug exists allowing you to watch your favorite pictures on television. USB connectivity to a computer is supported.
