Olympus unveils its new camera, the Olympus Stylus 1000 which is a very exciting camera and setting new standards in the camera industry! It was unveiled in the US on the 24/8/06. This nice little piece of technology measures 97 x 56 x 23 mm while weights 195 g. The Stylus 1000 can be set to a maximum resolution of 3648 x 2736. It also supports a lower resolution of 2560 x 1920, 2272 x 1704, 2048 x 1536, 1600 x 1200, 1280 x 960, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The ratio of the image (width / height) on the Olympus Stylus 1000 is 4:3, making a total of 10.0 mega pixels. The internal sensor on the Stylus 1000 is a CCD measuring only 1/1.8 " having a RGB color filter.

Olympus implemented a digital zoom on the Stylus 1000 and also added an internal flash which is very handy to any cameras nowadays . The normal focus range between the camera and the object is 60 cm. The minimum shutter speed (min. exposition to light) on the Stylus 1000 was set at 4 seconds while the maximum shutter speed is 1/1000 seconds. Movie clips are also supported in this version being a very useful function. The LCD implemented in the Stylus 1000 measures 2.5 ".
