Olympus strikes back with its new conception, the Olympus C-4000 Zoom which is a very exciting camera and setting new standards in the market! It was unveiled in the US on the 25/6/02. The Olympus C-4000 Zoom was initially targeted at a retail price of 500in the US, a very fair price. This nice camera measures 110 x 76 x70 mm and is weighting only 400 g. The C-4000 Zoom offers a maximum resolution of 2288 x 1712. You can also set it at a lower resolution of 2048 x 1536, 1600 x 1200, 1280 x 960, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The image ratio (width / height) on the Olympus C-4000 Zoom is 4:3, for a total of 3.9 mega pixels.
The internal sensor on the C-4000 Zoom is a CCD which measures 1/1.8 " and uses a RGB color filter. Olympus added a digital zoom on its C-4000 Zoom and also added an internal flash which is very handy to any cameras nowadays . The normal focus range between the camera and the object is 80 cm. The min. shutter speed of the C-4000 Zoom is 16 seconds while the maximum shutter speed is 1/1000 seconds. Movies are supported in this version which is always a useful function.
